I kept fearing this would happen and it did this past weekend... THe owners havent had hardly any rain at their home place so they moved 80 head with one Billy out to our place. I have never really hunted a place with goats so how bad is it going to be? One of our guys already got off because of he cant stand the goats. So give me some insite on what we are in for

I hunted a place with goats and they tended to stay by the ranchers house - I hardly ever saw them or had them around when hunting- it depends if he feeds and waters them by his house or just lets them roam- we were on a big place and i was far away- We did have those wild goats (Spanish goats I think) I just shot a bunch of them.

Sit back and see how the rancher takes care of them (feeds and waters)... If he does this then they shouldn't be a problem...
I hunted a place in brackettville that had them and they very seldom bothered us... They would on very few occasions ruin your hunt... I evan hand corned and still didn't have much trouble... Just make sure your feed pen is big and strong...

I have had to deal with them before and I was like your Buddy. They tore up feeders and also the feed pens. We had pens that were 100 foot square and wrapped the with welded wire. The billy would rear up and bounce on the wire till he brought it low enough for all of them to jump in, then they would destroy the feeder. I hate goats! The land owner did not like the welded wire because sometimes the stupid things would get their heads caught in the wire and die, so we had to rebuild with a tighter wire.
Did I mention that I hate goats.
Good luck!

There is only just so much habitat in that particular niche. Essentially, every goat means one less deer. Maybe not right away, but that's how it ends up eventually.
