On another note, a buddy of mine has a lease in Benavides and they are covered up in javelina.
I've been hunting 2 mile from Benavides for 10 years and have never laid eyes on a Javelina...Plenty of pigs but no javelinas?

His place is down 2295, on the left side of the road a couple of miles past the curve you go around after leaving town.

Well, we're leaving tomorrow. Hope it's a good hunt, and hopefully see some green screeners down there. I may try to do my first "live hunt" if I've got cell signal.

I just got back from 3 days on this same ranch. Los Orcones Ranch south of Benavides. Looks like the King ranch was sub-leased and they did not want to continue the javi operation with Trinity Outdoors. There was approx. 10 hunters in camp and as of the day we had left there had been 5 javalina killed. Other groups in camp had seen a couple of good groups of javi on the other side of the ranch. The ranch had a great population of feral pigs in our location and overall we had a great time. We saw upwards of 100 deer a day and several over 160". We were some of the first hunters to arrive and I don't believe there was much "corning" going on before we arrived. We saw more pigs as the hunt progressed and I suspect the hunting will improve as more hunters arrive. I'm not bashing anyone here just wanted to give a honest report of the hunting there after I saw this thread. I have never run into some of the problems reported here with this outfitter and will be interested to hear what others say that hunted the new ranch.

Also, a special thanks to the Los Orcones Ranch Foreman, he took time out if his day to show us several spots in our area and went above and beyond to help improve our hunt.
