My question exactly. I am wondering if this thread is serious or if you are pulling our collective leg. If you are serious, by posting this, you have just made your friend most uncomfortable.

I continue to shake my head at some of the threads that get posted on here these days.

The fact that you asked this question in a public forum makes me think that he's a better friend to you than you are to him. He works to help you with the place and he hunts for free. Sounds like a win-win for both parties.

the question is not directed to him per say .. and BTW i'm not planning on ever cutting him off ..He's my friend ! and he knows I won't charge him or cut him off...

my question is more about leaving money on the table kinda thing ... I see bunches of posts of people willing to pay for weekend hunts ... I could choose to do that as well , but that would impact him too...

so that's more what i'm looking at .. is it fair to think about setting up weekend hunts ?
keep in mind again it's only 100 acres...

I'll give you $10 more than he is giving you now, AND I will help you with your chores.

I really hate to say this, but ... what Smart said!

If this wasn't a private joke between you two, I see this thread doing more damage, than good, for your friendship.
Good friends are few and far between. Calling him out, on a public forum, won't turn out well.

With all due respect, it did not come off that way. I mean you did mention him specifically as it relates to money versus the work he does.

First off........I would say you don't have enough property to day lease and keep your numbers up...but I don't know the exact situation.

Secondly....I thought you bought the property to get away from the politics and the problems that come with leasing?

Third...like it was said above...with money comes expectations . Can you meet those expectations....physically (catering to weekend hunters) and animal wise?

Sounds like he has saved you a lot more THOUSANDS than you would ever get from leasing the place to me.

Yep. You have made a friend who helps you work your place and in return, you allow him to hunt. Unless this is a joke (jab) at him, I'd be embarrassed now. There are more important things in life than $.

Quite honestly it seems that by calling him out on a public forum like this you are putting him in a very awkward position. Just seems like, regardless of what you say about ever cutting him off, you are simply saying to your buddy, "hey man, I'm tired of the free ride, your sweat equity in my place doesn't mean much to me, you really ought to think about offering me the going rate to hunt my place like anyone else would pay."

If I were your "friend," that's certainly how I would take this thread.
