    Remington's Unsafe Trigger Assemblies

Any of y'all that own one of these 700 series rifles need to look and read some of these articles. I have personnally seen one discharge without ever touching the trigger. My buddy had to slide his bolt forward real easy so the gun would not go off.

Just wanted y'all to be aware of some issues with all of them. Same trigger assembly since 1947.

After shooting Remington for years, both stateside and overseas, I switched to Savage. I will put my stock .300 WSM against the stock Remington .300 WSM any day of the week. The action counts for alot, but your money is in the barrel. BTW, the Accutrigger has no problems like that,

I think the real story is neither does the Remington

there's nothing wrong with the trigger....

there is a problem with people jacking with it, and creating a problem.

what do people want? a car that can't exceed the speed limit? a knife that is too sharp?

say there is a mechanical failure with a trigger... IF proper firearm safety is being practiced (i.e. don't point a loaded gun at something you wouldn't want to kill), then there still wouldn't be deaths from this.

I also saw the mass media story about how the side saddle gas tanks on chevy trucks were unsafe..... just media BS

Yeah , everyone should read those articles and then give me those bad old Remington rifles so I can lock them up in my gun safe with the others that I have.

nothing wrong with the trigger, just people jacking with them that dont know what they are doing. with that being said i am still a model 70 guy myself.

I think the video that duckie put up speaks for itself and I would put the 700 up against any stock mass produced bolt action rifle. It can hold its own and that has been proven for many decades.

Time and place? You get a .300 WSM Remington and put it up against my stock .300 WSM Savage. Best three shots at 100 wins Remingtons have a great name because of their longevity and their dependibility, but times are changing as other makers have leveled the playing field with modern technology.

As long as it is the same caliber and bring some kleenex for yourself when the shooting is over
