I used to go there when I lived in Arlington. Great place and family owned.

Throphy Barber shop in Baytown has been the place for 50+ years. Most of the old timers have passed on but the new crop of barbers are carring on the tradition. Can even still get your boots shined while your there.

My dad used to go to an old 4 chair shop called "Gilbert's" that had been around since the 1940's. I'd sit and look through the stacks of old hunting and fishing magazines (he kept Playboys hidden away for those that were in the know) I remember the smocks the barbers wore, combs in jars of blue stuff and the smell of Lucky Tiger Hair Oil...

I didn't even know that I missed those old barber shops until now. I do remember them well from my childhood when pops took us in for a haircut. I was always afraid of the straight razor though. I would like to find one around here now. I normally cut my own hair but would sure love some good old hot shaving cream and tighten up.
