Thanks Charlie. I'd obviously rather not have to do something that extreme but if that's what it takes to get my foot in the door...im game.

Chesapeake Energy has an associate landman position that you might can do(requires minimum experience). However, this is a traveling position. Most landman jobs required a considerable amount of travel. You'll need some experience before you can land an in-house landman job. Pm me with your info if your still looking and I'll see what I can do for a fellow Ag.

Aggiehunter08, I ran across this forum and wanted to reach out as you seem to be connected and dialed into some of the contacts I am searching for currently. I am trying to transition to the Landman industry and thought I would give this a shot.

I have spent the last 3 years working as a govt contractor/consultant to the FDIC and Banking industry closing banks and trying to help save some of them from being closed. Specializing in Due Diligence, Contract Repudiation, and Troubled Asset Servicing Management. The govt keeps changing the rules and making it harder to survive as a small private consulting firm and most of the banks being closed don't require our services as they have outsourced this to the acquiring banks so our pipeline of business has dwindled down considerably to a scarce few opportunities.

4-5 of the guys I have worked with at the FDIC are already onsite in South Texas with a broker and I am hoping to join them but wanted to reach out and determine if there was any other angles to approach the industry so I figured that I would give this a shot! Thank you in advance for reading this if you happen to and I hope to hear from you if possible.

        Regards,

        Scott
