Saw a big boar in the snow tonite.

I killed the biggest hog taken at our Ranch the year it snowed on Easter, that evening. Usually, our hogs are nocturnal-between 9:00 and 3:00 am, and he came out during daylight hours to the corn. Good luck!

Well I had a chance, had a small single pig show up at 4. Videoed him for a few minutes and decided to wait for something bigger

If you look at the base of the tree you might be able to see him


After he vaccumed up most of my corn for the next 30-40min I decided to try and video me shooting him
I don't know if the string hit my arm or what but all I killed was the root of the tree
Took 5min with freezing fingers to get my slick trick out of that root.

The church has a men's breakfast the first Sat of the month but they cancelled it so I am gonna try them again in the morning. There was a pretty big set of tracks from earlier in the day

The hogs that I hunt hit the feeder at about an hour after dark and yesterday they hit it before i got out there

Would have stayed in my warm bed this morning if I had known the wind was going to shift out of the East about daylight

Had the boar I have been after come in a little after 7, got the video going and was going to let him settle in to his corn breakfast before I shot. I had already let the stand creak and alerted him (never squeaks but I guess the cold caused it?), he was calming down and I was already geting ready to draw when the wind hit the back of my neck and away he went
So much for getting any blood on the snow as it is rapidly melting here

Hunted all day Thursday in the snow, beautiful day to be in the woods. Pig tracks everywhere, tracked them all day. No luck for me.
