when replacing oil cooler make sure the valley where it goes is spotless clean suck all oil out of it, i use brake clean and a vacuum pump and get it as clean as possible and replace oil cooler screen under the cooler, if any debris is in there and gets past the screen it will wipe your your ipr valve, screen should come with new cooler but check, part number on screen is 3c3z-6c683-ab, and do not reuse thick black o-ring between intake and front engine cover

after cleaning valley put 1qt oil in valley before setting new cooler in and that will reduce start up time after repair is done...thats a big help otherwise it takes alot of cranking sometimes after all that air gets in the system

So if a fella had a 6.0 and wanted to do the EGR delete, replace the oil cooler, install ARP heads studs and gaskets, how much would that cost (ballpark) and more importantly would that make the motor pretty much bulletproof and much easier to safely mod?

Is there anything else that would be recommended? I liked the power that my 6.0 had and the transmission was great but the fuel mileage stunk and I was constantly worried about the reliability.

I installed a sinister kit,oil cooler, arp studs, black onyx head gaskets on a truck for 2200 all done in one day started at 8 finished 3:45 truck runs better than ever the customer states and he has 14 inch lift 24's with 40's. And a 250 horse programmer and he said when he ha it turned up and stomps on it the tranny slips

Explain please?? I just had my EGR replaced @ $1,000. I know where the EGR valve is and how to unplug it but are you telling me that that won't affect the performance of the truck??

Did they replace valve only or cooler also?

2200 labor i think the kit was 1100 customer provided it, would have done it for less but customer paid extra for 1 day so i busted it
