Yep. Momma had been dead for a few days and the babies were just hanging around.

So I don't see how that would be an issue. You hear a lot of things though.
i havent heard a lot of vocalizations from pigs. Just the grunts and squeels.

I've tried both the hog grunter and the hog squealer. The grunter is just a deer grunt with a picture of a hog on it. The squealer doesn't even sound realistic to me. Tried anyway, and all it did was scare them away. Never had a single pig actually come in to the calls. The recorded calls may work a lot better, but this is one animal a mouth call isn't likely to work on in my opinion.

I was using a jack rabbit call and had a boar come in. I was set up on a long narrow road, the hog came in from the side. I never got a shot because he stayed behind some ceders. It was proabably 15 yards from me, grunting the whole time.

Once you've shot at a group then blowing on a squealer can bring em back in for more shots. Had this happen on hogs and javvys. Never been able to just call them in though..

I use a deer grunt call for "calling them". If I can see them I wont use it. sometimes after sitting in the dark for a while and nothing is happening I will hit the grunt a few times and sometimes something will wonder out. The other time I use it is after I know Ive been had. Like if they smell me or Ive shot, sometimes I can bring them back for a shot by giving a series of short grunts, they are not comfortable but a shot.

Check out the is link for the previous episodes of the Predator Hunting Podcast with Brian Downs. Episode 11 is about hog hunting with Glenn Guess and he hits on calling hogs. BTW that is a great show. I have all of them downloaded on my IPod and listen to them while sitting on stand. I'm here in Ohio and am envious of you guys who have hogs to hunt.

I hunted with a guy who shot a sow that had a bunch of little pigs.He laid down by the dead sow untill the pigs came back and he caught one them and brought it back to camp.
