Do you have an exotic pet? What is the weirdest pet you've ever had? Have?

I have a ball python and so many people ask me WHY. Because she's pretty and actually quite docile and never bitten me. I just want to see amazing and how many interesting critters are out there.

Growing up I had an iguana, corn snake, and a opossum that I rescued out of it's roadkilled mother's pouch. (my baseball team was picking up trash on the side of the road, we came up to it, and saw something moving inside, so I reached in and pulled the little feller out, named him Lucky.)

My brother and I had a pair of caimen. Mean little suckers, but it was sure fun to watch them snatch a goldfish.

A coworker of mine has one of these. It's a Kinkajou monkey. Very cute animal but he had to make an emergency trip to the vet (a vet for exotics at that) at 3am. a few days ago and it cost him 1K just to get in the door. I'm afraid to ask what the final bill was after 3 nights in the pet hospital.

Do pet lions count? The locals brought this brother and sister couple to us Saturday. We have a preserve in Kenya that is going to take them. We just have to talk the UN into letting them hitch a ride.

I had a squirrel monkey for years as a kid, his best friend and cohort was my little black kitten. He was a very cool friend. Do miss him still. A couple geese that imprinted on me and thought I was their mother. An iguana for several years and a pot bellied pig that went everywhere I did in the back seat of the car. Lived in the house, completely house broken and she thought she was a people. Her best friend and cohort was my shepard.
As of now, not pets. For the first time in my life.

I kept a variety of snakes growing up. I guess the strangest was a Texas Coral Snake. I also had a squirrel for a few years. And Texas Collared Lizards.

I have owned several reptiles over the years. Right now just one. Steve the snake. An amelanistic corn snake. he is orange. I'll see if I can find a pic.

A skunk, raccoon and a crow. The skunk was actually litter box trained.

Guinea pigs. I know, not very exotic.

However, like the natives of Peru who live in and around the Andes mountains, we raised them for chow. Rats-n-rice... delicious!

We had a Spider Monkey when I was a kid. My Dad found a baby squirrel that we raised to mature then set loose. I had a Cedar Waxwing for about 2 years that I found, he had a broken wing. A friend and I was using a seign to catch bait for a jug line. We caught a few baby Gar and a several baby Bass, put them in his aquarium. When I grew up and moved out I bought a Quaker parrot, a Purple Scaly Head Pionus parrot, and a Chinese Water Dragon. Then we got a Wolf Hybrid named Gus. That's about it. LOL
