    How to remove camo dip?

I picked up a used shot gun and only the barrel is dipped (or what I assume is dipped) and I want to take it off to prep for a new paint/dip job.

How do I go about getting this crude off without messing up the barrel?

I supposed the first step is to figure out what the dipping is made from? I wouldn't think you'd be able to take any of it off without messing up the bluing on the barrell.

not worried about the blueing as it will either get painted or dipped again. I am more worried about damageing the barrel itself.

If you are going to redip it you may just need to give it a light sanding and dip or paint over it. Check with the company.

If you are going to re-dip it, the person doing the dipping will remove it before the process.

If you are going to paint it yourself, there is no reason to remove it....just paint over it.

acetone should soften it up enough to take a stiff brass brush to the camo and rub it off.

Clean them good and then dip, I don't synthetics need to be prepped, just clean.

As for the frame, I have no idea.

Depending on the pattern you go with you may need to lay a base coat so the pattern will show. Need to make sure all surfaces are very clean
