Do any of you guys use blood bait . My dad used to buy buckets of blood from the processor and after it dried up a bit he would chum the water with some and then bait his hook with some. Always caught fish.

keep it simple - canned dog food with holes punched in top and bottom

                works like a charm

Here's a tip for chumming with sour grain -- sling it with a plastic ice cube scooper like you use in an ice machine. You can throw it farther and with greater accuracy than the coffee can and you are less likely to sprinkle your companions with evil.

Do you tie a string to it or just litter up the bottom of the lake with rusty metal land mines?

Question for experienced milo sourers.....I checked a five gallon bucket of soured maize I've had since last spring....covered with lid but went through the summer heat and the winter up till now. The top inch or so of the milo was black, down under it still had that orange look. The black stuff didn't smell soured....it smelled like a rotted animal. I stirred it all up and it seems ok. Is this stuff still good?

I like to use chopped shad as well as the milo.

No need to use chum if fishing the right area at the right time of year.

I use juglines to clutter the river or lake. I am mostly catch and release though since cleaning is no fun.
