I know the older ones do. I have a VXII that clicks, but its from the late 70's. When I was working at Sportsman's Warehouse, the ones we were selling did'nt...

They are click adjusted now. I returned a VX II 3x9x40 this fall that would not hold zero. I was shocked really it was my first Leupold and I was pumped to get it. Went through over 100 rounds of precisely loaded 308 Win on a new MGM barrel and it would just not hold. Did all kinds of tightening bases changing rings bases etc. Finally just ripped it off sent it back to Cabela's and got a Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40 and in 13 rounds had it shooting dead on and it has held solid as a rock. One other thing too is that on the 200 yard range I could not see my bullet holes with the Leupold which I did not expect too and used a guys spotting scope. After getting the Zeiss I sighted in at 100 yards and then went down to the 200 yard and started shooting and wow I could clearly see my bullet holes. That told me right there the Zeiss had better optics. I did not notice it at 100 yards or just in general but that 200 yard range proved the clairity was better.

Now I just think I got a bad scope and it happens but the clairity between the two proved to me I made a good choice going to the Zeiss the cost between the two was not much at all.

Go to Cabela's and read the reviews and you will find mine up there about this but mine was not the only one that had the exact same problem with the VX II.

Good Luck, Leupold makes a fine product I just got a bad one but I sure like this Zeiss.

        to me...yes.

The lens coating and looking in the direction of the setting / rising sun is where you can really tell the difference. Glare is not as bad on the III.
I have both and this is what I say. But there are other options to look into as well.
