Goin back to South Africa in 2011! (july 28- aug 7) Gonna be hunting again with Ms Allison and Lammie http://www.daretobowhunt.co.za/. We'll be at the Kalahari Lodge this time. Goin after (for sure) gemsbok, kudu, springbok, zebra and impala. May get lucky and get a chance at a few other animals. One of the guys in our group will be after a cape buffalo! I cant wait!

The really cool part is I talked my dad into goin with me! This is gonna be fun

Congrats Skeeter. You know the thrills of bowhunting in RSA and the return trip will just solidify that feeling. I was lucky to get to go for my second trip this past Sept and it was better the 2nd go round. My 3rd will have to wait until 2012 (already booked) and hopefully that will be for a lioness. Keep us posted on your preparations and such and your excitement level as it gets closer. Can't wait for the LDp's from the trip.

Man, you have no idea (well... maybe you do!) how excited I am! I was supposed to go this past summer, but after my wife had two kidney stone surgeries, my son had 3 surgeries to fix a broken arm at the end of last year and the trip to Disney this past summer, my extra huntin money was GONE!!!

Definatedly gonna be better prepared, aint gonna take near as much stuff as I did last time and gonna stay a few more days. July cant get here fast enough!

last time I went, I think my airfare was $1400... something like that. I have heard of less depending on lay overs and airline. The shopping starts tomorrow! Actually it was cheaper for me to get a plane ticket, fly to Africa and kill an impala vs. goin to a game ranch here in TX and shootin one.

total trip including airfare, 6 day hunt, lodge, food, one nite hotel, open bar, 5 animals, tips, taxi and shipping to get my mounts home was less than $6000.

Skeeter, I am going to suggest that you fly any airlines but South African Airways on this trip. I could go into a long list of nightmares we had on our trip over and back this past Sept. I will never fly them again.

Guys, just remember that you are limited only by the size of your pocket book on a trip to South Africa. Daily fees plus a trophy fee on each animal or package deals between you and the PH so you can spen a little or spend a lot. Believe me you will not regret a trip to South Africa and you will want to return more than once.
