    Leprosy

    My buddy shot an armadillo and im not sure if he hit it but we got the arrow back and he didnt see really any blood on it but the arrow broke. he chewed on the fletching and is worried that he has it it was about 3 years ago. Any help???

    Looking at wikipedia, the incubation period can be up to 30 years but typically is 3-5 years.

    It also says that much of it can be treated successfully as it is bacterial. My suggestion would be to see a doctor as soon as possible.

            According to my research, there has never been a documented case of a human contracting Hansen's Disease from an armadillo. Since they are one of the few animals which can carry the disease however, armadilloes are frequently the model used in research studies. Does your friend have skin lesions or some other symptom that makes him think he has it?

                      I wouldn't worry if he does have Leprosy they have isolated isand colonies in the pacific for people who are infected.
