So the money hadn't yet left your hand when you came back and saw that the rails weren't on the truck. Hate to say it, but that was your best chance to make something happen. Up until that moment, you held all the cards. Now that they have the money, they hold all the cards. Like Fishndude said, make the demand but be ready to accept that there's really nothing you can do to make them give you the rails at this point.

Well she actually wants to make it right but he isn't the most pleasant individual. Hence the EX. So, I'll keep on him until he just tells me to drop it. Either way, I have priced everything I need and its just under $250.

i think 250 is pretty cheap for a cover. if he does not pay i would not bother the lady. i would just buy the hardware and feel pretty good that i got a good deal on a cover.

Forget about it, the darn covers are more in the way than not most of the time anyway.

What did she say when you told her you would come back to install the cover? Depending on how she answered that would depend on how I moved forward. In the end it is probably not worth the hassle and aggrevation in the end to haggle for the rails and hardware but if he told a lie about that I would be more concerned about him lying about the truck.

Probably going to be more of a headache to pursue it than to just let it go

It will not hurt to ask several times about it, maybe he will get tired of hearing from you and make it right
