N-I-C-E !! If your heart tells you to go with buying a cape and shoulder mounting the big boy, then you should. IMO, I had that choice too but I thought that the cape was not really MY deer but that the antlers were. So I Euro mounted mine. Your call and I wouldn't say anything but "congratulations" ... again.

I would go for the shoulder mount. He's a really nice deer. I've got several on my wall where I didn't use the original cape. No big deal at all. But then again, I'm just a little picky about capes.

Nice bow kill anytime. If you need a cape I'm sure one of us TBHers could get you one. I havent killed a cull yet where do you live?

Heck if you don't mind droppin' a little cash you can have the horns replicated still have your euro and a shoulder mount.

Back around 2004 or so my dad shot a buck that he didn't mount at the time, it grossed around 145, kind of freaky rack. Later he decided he should have shoulder mounted it, but didn't have the cape. In 2006 my oldest son shot a big old bodied buck off the same place, a very similiar looking deer to dads, but the rack was trashed. He gave the cape to my dad so he could have that earlier buck mounted. We laugh about it now, there is always a good natured argument as to who the mount belongs to. Good memories come from stories like that.

I'm not sure that is the right word to use when talking about replicas.

No too late. i am about to do my first attempt at a mount using a euro I did many years ago. It was a nice 12pt i think needs more display.
