Hunting dog name help

My son still wants to call our dog Tracker.

Named my first duck dog after Phil Robertson's......Reload. The kids thought it was cute but he turned out to be a great meat dog. Nothing fancy but, didn't lose anymore birds. Trained him myself and was a real proud poppa.

Ours is Koda as in Kodiak Bear , which is what he looked like as a pup . I have been in Texas long enough that if I got another I think I would name him Robert Earl something on the papers and call him Rek , sounds like wreck , after Roebert Earl Keen . That would be a good short name for working , which you want , and a Great Texas Name !

My Dad always used one syllable names for his bird dogs - easier to use when you yell at em' ie: Buck, Belle, Jake, etc

i agree, and make sure it doesn't rhyme with the word you'll likely use more than any other-no. had a choc lab named bear. he was as pretty as he was stupid. and another named chip
