I have seen two bucks go over 8' fences. Both were mature deer and neither jumped into our place. It can be done, hence the growing popularity of 10' fences, especially for breeding operations.

This is why I will personally castrate anyone who chases animals on our place.

Rubberband, crimped, or pocket knife? I'll hold them! Haha.

Seen it to. With enough pressure they can do anything

On 674 north of Rocksprings I had a spike running parallel with a high fence. When he got tired of running down the fence he flat jumped it with ease. That was running along the fence, not stopping and running towards the fence. And that was a 18 month old deer.

We've got prolly about 18 hd of whitetail here at our lab (Cattle Fever Tick Research Lab) and I and several others have seen one or two clear the fence...it's only done when they are absolutely flushed or feel cornered...we've never lost one juss cuz it felt like leavin'...only when it feels like there is no way out...they cruddy thing about that though is they can easily bust a leg on their way down and then you've gotta limp deer...
