I would. It is the pursuit that drives me more than anything else.

yep, killed duikers, steinbok, klipspringer, and roe buck. . . .not much to get excited about antler wise there. . . .BTW, there basically is a spike only relative of the WT called a brocket deer - found in mexico & southwards

Also really jonesing to do a Sitka Blacktail hunt, pretty unimpressive when looking at the racks. ..

As long as there are differences in types of racks we as humans will always find ways to make it into a competition

I have a Trophy grasshopper Hunt for $1500 if you are interested. It is spot and stalk or tree stand hunting. Bow only no rifles and located in the Texas Hill country.
          Pm me if interested.

I shoot spikes and does now. I doubt there will be a single person who is going to tell you they are a horn hunter only.

I used to hunt more for meat than rack, but I had kids at home and cooked a lot more than we do now. I/we would shoot 4-5 deer a year and it was a blast regardless of size. Back then I would shoot a spike over a 120-125 inch 8 point, they taste better. Many times we could not shoot doe, or where limited by the pemits issued. On 640 acres we where issued from 1-3 doe tags. Since we won't eat more than one deer a year now, I'm pretty much hunt for the rack. It was probably more fun back then, but time changes what we do.

I would, and be proud to do so just like I am now.

I am not a trophy hunter and don't think I will ever be. I consider a great rack a bonus.

I would definitely still hunt them. I still get excited over a doe just as much as a buck. I am in it more for the experience, friendships gained, and of course the meat.

I never really liked "horn stew" anyways so I would be in!

Yep. When I started hunting in the sixties, we were just happy to see and shoot a deer, regardless of size. I'm a lot more selective now, but shooting a small deer that needs to be out of the herd, and is legal, is no problem for me.
