question in regards to meat hunter thread

how many of yall would hunt/ kill whitetail deer if the didnt grow big antlers? what if all of them were spikes? would you hunt/ kill em? would they be considered less of a trophy?

i get scatterbrained for bucks and does alike. horns are excellent but i will hunt for game with and without them

Me, I probably would hunt them anyway. Good eating! I kill a mess of Dove, Ducks and other animals that don't have big antlers. I just enjoy hunting.

People would start pulling a tape on the length and mass of spikes...see goats, rams, nilgai etc.....or their skulls...like a bear..

A trophy rack is just a bonus for me. I strive to just take a mature animal...regardless of horn size. But hunting for ol mossy horns is a blast too.

I am there...sure would... like Ron said, venison, duck, dove, goose, turkey, elk, nilgai, axis, etc. etc. its all whats for dinner at my house... i buy the occaisional chicken whe on sale

Tasty, and fun, I would hunt them if they had no horns and were purple, it would still be better than working or being stuck in the city everyday.

There is so much more to it than trying to kill a big buck. Our freezer stays full of deer, dove, duck, pork, turkey, fish but there aint no antlers in my freezer. Being able to catch up to a trophy buck is a bonus to being outdoors. We have plenty of horns on the walls but that is not why we hunt.

I will hunt grasshoppers if you want...the point is I like to hunt....now lets say the AR rules help the Antler Size what are people going to get excited about when everyone kills a "trophy deer'

For the first time in a couple of years I sat in one of our rifle blinds and shot a doe. I surprised myself that I was shaking as if it were a big buck! So, yes, they all get me pumped up. My perfect scenario is to shoot a couple for the freezer (which I enjoy) and then spend some time waiting on Mr. Big.
