First Duck with a bow

I duck hunt alot so I had a stamp. No feeder near me, just oak trees. I never knew that the ducks walked around on the bank looking for acorns. They scratch around like chickens. I don't shoot coons with my bow anymore, after pinning one down several years ago. He was grabbing the arrow like a person trying to pull it out. First time I ever felt bad for shooting an animal.

Sorry, but I laughed out loud about the coon chewing on the ducks head! That's hilarious! Actually, you are pretty stealthy to draw on a wood duck at 25yds and make the shot, those things have eyes in the back of their heads!

I'll admit it was a lucky shot. He was constantly moving scratching around in the leaves, I ranged him at 25 yards and when I drew back he was a couple yards closer still moving. I have unloaded on ducks before flying 20 feet in front of me with a shotgun and not hit a feather. I felt pretty silly ranging a duck. I even thought about letting out a quack to make him stop.jk
