My dream is to take a deer off the King Ranch. I don't care if its a monster, but just to say that I have taken a deer on such a legendary place.

My buddy Clint guided both of those bucks. The first buck was 183 and the second was grossed 225. Low fence down by McAllen on the KR

to each his own - I like the fact that the hunter is taking a backseat to the animal in the picture (although a smile helps). They would have to beat the smile off of me after shooting that buck. The only thing that I think could have made it better was if they rotated the deer and hunter 90 degrees to the right and had the blue sky as the backdrop behind the horns.

Mine was as well Heath, The Texas Youth Hunting Program fullfilled that dream for me when I was 14yrs old. It was a hunt I will never forget. I hope to go down there on a management hunt at some point in life.

Those are kind of small for the King Ranch. I just wish my relative would take me with him when he goes there hunting all the time.

They wre both killed on the Mota Bonita which is a 42,000 acre section of the King Ranch which is leased by Haliburton. They were know as Elvis (typical) and Stickers (non typical) by the guides and employees. They were not BOUGHT deer. Well ..in a way they weren't bought. More like a gift for work given to Haliburton.

                      Awesome deer!

But yes, add me to the "terrible tricked up image" crowd for the first photo.

Might as well just do this...

Good pic LEGDOG. Both of the King Ranch Bucks are brutes. I don't care how you photograph them. Brutes.

I think the first LDP loses something of prospective when the hunter is not touching the animals horns.
