So what if it was? Some people pay alot some people are lucky enough to hunt for free. And I would be willing to bet the hunters didn't pay a penny.
          From the King Ranch website.

Maybe - maybe not. IRS rules may require the hunter to pay taxes on the "gift".

Up to a 150 Boone & Crockett Gross Score $5,700 flat fee
          151 - 170 B & C Gross Score $5,700 plus $250 per B & C point from the 151 Gross Score
          171 - 179 B & C Gross Score $5,700 plus $300 per B & C point from the 151 Gross Score
          180 - 184 B & C Gross Score $17,500
          185 - 189 B & C Gross Score $18,000
          190 - 194 B & C Gross Score $18,500
          195 - 199 B & C Gross Score $19,000
          200+ B & C Gross Score $25,000

I think he is sitting way to close to that deer

Not all places on the King ranch pay per deer. There are several parts of the ranch that are leased.

First pic is photoshopped. The man was posing for a pic. by himself on original pic.
The buck was added in on top of his orriginal posing pic. This was probably just done because he didn't have a pic with him and the buck together. Horns look three dementional over the backdrop. Not saying it isn't a great deer, but the reason the pic doesn't work for all of you is because they are 2 different photos fixed together. I have done the same thing for friends that wanted to be in a photo with their deer.
