the head has been frozen if you look at it closely. therefore it won't shrink. so what ever it scores now is what it will stay.[/QUOTE]

I`m not so sure about that.

Frogville area is known for big deer, Ive seen several big non typicals from the road over the years in the area. For the record its also a big poaching area, not saying this one was but Ive questioned it myself. I understood it to be killed during muzzle loader season. This place is 3o miles from here, im jealous , its a huge deer however it was killed.

Thats a bunch of stank balogni. I can think of a few reasons. I heard last year a record was taken in northern OK and never saw an LDP. At least this kid circulated his so he can get people stoked on the buck medley that brought us all here. And although this might not be the only pic, the pic of the buck hanging by his neck does not do this toad justice like the one above does.

Ill research this tomorrow, but one thing that strikes me as odd is no one in the area is aware of the deer being killed. If I took it id carry it all over the county showing everyone,

^^^ thats what i'm sayin. I'd have that sucker in every news paper across the state. IMO take pride in your land and what it produces. When i first saw it, i took a pic of the pic and sent it to all my hunting buddies and they were about as stoked as me

That's just down the road from Shoals where my mother was raised; my grandparents had a 100 acres about a mile south of the Shoals cemetary...used to squirrel hunt as a kid. Wished it was still in the family.

That is a hoss of a buck.

that "probably poached it" statement is exactly why some folks who kill huge bucks don't show em off. Not that they DID poach it but they don't want the rumors and lies spread by folks all over the net. Been there, done that.

nice buck, congrats to the hunter.

Its real simple, its called poaching.......I have hunted Oklahoma my entire life and see it happen every year, I have had multiple leases and they always get poached by locals and wardens dont do squat to stop it, and when they do nothing rarely happens to the offender. Not to mention everybody rushes to the area and trys to lease up the land.....You ever try getting a lease In Grayson County Tx??????

There are many reasons to keep quiet about a harvest location on a great buck......

well not to add fuel to the fire but if indeed the buck's head has been frozen then I believe it is out of contention for boone & crockett and pope & young......if you look at the scoring sheets for both they say in very easy to read text....."the head shall not be frozen for 60days to allow for the proper drying period" .........im not 100% if it disqualifies the deer but if I shot one i would make darn sure that it stayed outta the freezer!...........regardless that is an amazing animal

That is one nice buck, with a heck of a lot of speculation. Congatulations to the hunter! Maybe the guy is just humble and don't like to brag.
