I/m almost positive I saw a young one in Lakeside a couple years back. Either that or the biggest house cat in the world.

We had the same conversation at the tag meeting a few weeks ago. I was with people that owned land around CR 101.

Pretty early to be picking fights but some just can't resist it Stan!

I'm headed home from the lease today. I imagine the case is there by now. I'll look it over and send payment!

I have seen 3 in Burnet Cnty/Llano county. When we owned the ranch in Menard I saw 2. One of the times I was coming in from an evening hunt and it was standing in the middle of the road looking at me. I tried to get my gun loaded but he bolted after a few seconds.

Shot and missed a ML in June.He was sitting in the outer edge of a hay field in Robertson county.Called the cattle rancher that has this place leased. All I said was "You are not going to believe this..".He immediately responded"You saw the lion".Turned out,he had seen it the night before!

I assumed that the cat in that picture was the one that we have seen twice...in the same spot...coming to the feeder when it goes off. It usually is traveling with another young one. We have visually seen many of them including one that goes 150+ pounds. Our first year on the lease (last year), they took down a lost horse near one of my stands. I walked up on a half eaten horse carcass wearing a bridle that was buried with sticks. There is a reason we don't see many deer on the lease but there is also a reason we came back...I want one of those cats!

I am headed out to lease on Tuesday. I'll try to take some pics of tracks (the size of my fist), piles of deer filled crap, the horse bones or, hopefully, a friggin dead cat while I am there! I will be actively hunting the big one.

Look, I know it is difficult to wrap your mind around being the prey while deer hunting. Truth is, I wouldn't believe there are so many big cats around our lease if we hadn't seen them! Hopefully, I can bring you some "visual" proof in the form of me holding one of those bad boys soon. As far as the wolf, I saw what I saw. If it was just a huge dog that looks like a wolf then so be it. I am in no way an expert on wolves. However, I know that it wasn't a massive coyote. I have seen too many of those in my day.

I was told there have been several sighting of a big cat in that area.

I hunt close to CR101 and Tate Ranch Road.
