I hunted the Baker 3 last weekend just outside of Rocksprings. I shot a whitetail doe. Saw a good amount of deer, both axis and whitetail. Seemed to be moving more over night though.

I've only hunted one season on Edward's county. I was not up there every weekend but I did see activity around the week of Thanksgiving. I keep trying to tell my Dad that I think it would have been better in December but he's hard headed. I was just curious if December is the norm?

I hunt between del rio and rock springs. It my 5 years of hunting there it seems like the rut kicks in around Thanksgiving (at the earliest) and continues right on through the end of the season.

I hunted that same area last Tuesday and Wednesday and a zebra ran off every deer under my feeder. I thought hogs were bad. This ain't no joke.

I'm shooting to try and hunt more towards the beginning of December this year. I will be there the weekend before Thanksgiving and maybe the weekend after. I guess I'll just have to see what happens.
