Doing the right thing isn't always easy

My wife ( a city girl through and through) has recently grown to like camping. (since I bought a travel trailer for the lease). We have some friends that we like to camp with and they have been pestering us to camp during the cooler fall temps. I finally caved in and agreed to give up a weekend during hunting season. I told them the second weekend of October would be best for me. (This is due to the early part of bow season was the slowest on our lease last year). Well, the time is now here and I have to go camp when my heart would much rather be hunting for a bruiser.
I am thinking this should work out for me in the long run. We have been married over 21 years and last year was the first time she had ever gone to the deer lease with me. I am hoping this weekend sacrifice might give me a little leverage towards getting a second visit from the little lady at the lease. I know she enjoyed herself last year as my hunting buddy's wife and kid was there and the two ladies were together pretty much the entire time. Of course when I asked her on the way home when she would come back, her response was that she thought she had had enough deer camp to last her for the rest of her life. Does anyone else have a city girl wife that doesn't appreciate hunting camp? I need some help on how to win her over to the woods.

My wife's about as much of a city girl as you could imagine. She's from the Big Apple! I don't try and convince her to go in to the woods. I asked her once and she wasn't interested so I let her do what makes her happy. Heck, I'm sitting here eating the lunch she packed for me. Deer sausage, latkes and green beans. If she keeps this up I'll never pester her about anything. Good luck with yours!

Same boat here. My wife's idea of a fishing trip is cruising the lake looking at fancy houses and then back to the boat ramp.

She will go to my dad's place but he has a 3br 2 bath home there.

FND...back when fishing was my number one passion, I would ask the wife to go fishing. I would hook up the boat, make us a lunch and pack plenty of drinks, haul the boat to the lake, cruise to my favorite spot to fish and after about 20-30 minutes, she was ready to go home....
              City girls....

This is the only time of year I can get away and enjoy the outdoors. While she enjoys the shopping malls.

Mine likes to go fishing (taking the boys night finshing this sat.), but not real fond of the woods. Took her hunting when we were dating and she did not seem to enjoy it very much (does not like finding spider webs in the dark and I don't like getting in the stand 30 min. after daylight). That was OK though, because she hasn't been invited back. We are in full agreement I can hunt by myself.

Mine Had no Interest! Got rid of her before hunting season, will find a new one in Feburary.

mine does the same thing, "you're going hunting right?" She's never been to the deer lease or fishing with me. Her idea of camping is a nice cabin with a fire place.
