Whatever backwards deal is going on here, you don't want to be involved in it, but I would like the landowner to know why you are not getting on the lease, It sounds like you have already talked to him, he may be glad to know that not everyone is getting a fair shake, or its not being run right. If you like the porperty enough this may be the way to go.

I have not paid to get on the lease....and wont if Mike is anywhere around..

The only reason I have not contacted the land owner about what is going on is because I dont want Steve to loose his spot on the lease, as there is no guarantee Steve or I could get the leasing rights and remove Mike.

A little history: I was on a lease in George West from 2000 to 2003 with 3 good friends of mine. We bought into the management plan with the rest of the group. The lease manager had a 10 yr lease agreement. We only killed does, and management bucks....letting several 150 class bucks walk our final year. We spent many week ends and several thousand dollars fixing up an old camp house to stay in. The lease manager got busted by the landowner bringing folks in during the week...day hunting the place along with his other 2 hunting buddies that were on the lease....We all got kicked off the place...even after talking with the landowner and pleading our case....The landowner brought in a new group, and would not even consider letting us stay. Thats one of the reasons this gives me heartburn.....and I have not invested anything in it.....I just hate to see scumbags get away with stuff like this!

I read E wrong, I read it as Contact Steve and tell him you don't want to be on the lease anymore.
I agree with you, I would not lease with/or in this case hunt with Mike. Or abide with his profiting off your money and hard work.
Sounds like you are sold Steve is a good guy, Maybe you and Steve can find another place for next year, leave Mike hanging and let the landowner know about Mike after yall have found another spot? good luck either way.
