    How to not spook deer

I want to know your thoughts on getting out of the blind. I planted a cowpea/milo food plot. Good news is it pulls the deer in like a magnet, bad news is I have hell getting out of my blind in the evenings.

I don't want to spook the deer getting out so I have had my partner pick me up a couple of times, but my there is alot of complaining that comes with that. I have tried lip squeaking, blowing at them, grunting, dropping a water bottle out of the blind, and even coyote barking at them. They just keep eating.

So what do I do? I'll have 10-30 deer in the field from 10-100 yds.

Having someone pick you up is best. guess you could tie a fishing line to a big bell in the trees across the plot, so they are spooked from somewhere other than where you are.

Okie, In the past when I've needed to leave the blind in the evening with deer still eating, I've waited an additional 20-30 min after I couldn't see and then gotten down quietly. I try not to use the flash light and rely on moonlight until I'm a good distance. Hopefully when they hear me they didn't know exactly what it was when they run off and come back later that evening when they think it's safe. It may not be the best way but its what I do.

I have more of an issue in the mornings. Feeder goes off at 6:30am, and I'll try be in the blind by 5:45 at the latest just to try beat the deer and get settled. Nope.... Walked up on deer in the feeder pen two mornings in a row a little after 5:30.

it seems to me that the best time is when they cant recognize what is making the noise

            .

Shoot the closest one before dark.......problem solved. I've actually got the luxery of having someone pick me up so they spook from the four wheeler long before I get out of the blind.

I use my Iphone "Dog barking" ringtone. It works every time with no ill effects.

I do a Hoot Owl call until they leave. Seems not to spook them. They seem to all come back the next day.

Y'all are great. Thanks for the reply. I do have the dog barking sound on my iphone; good thinking. I can't see these deer leaving for a owl. I might give it a shot. If it were just does I wouldn't be so worried, but there's usually 5 bucks or so out there too, and I'm affraid that they won't be back. Since they're still in their bachelor groups I want all of the bucks to feel safe so hopefully they'll bring in the big boy one evening. What do y'all think about blowing at them?

It's better to spook them with a vehicle driving up than for you to spook them getting out of your blind.

I put my lips together like a kiss and suck in. It sounds like a squealing rabbit. They all run off and come back in the morning
