    Transfer switch, huh?

My buddy has a Sunnybrook Big Dog that just had the same thing happen.

Upgrade the transfer switch -- the one that they put in is bottom of the line.

Seems like your camper guy had previous experience with this kind of problem.

    Glad no one was hurt.
see above. I see the problem -- do you?

Bingo! (and I own a Keystone, that I really like!) the Raptor has some design flaws -- and they know about them.

Stay on them to make it right.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we encountered a short in this general region...

Rod and Dale, thanks for your wonderful insight.

Let me be more specific for you rocket scientists ... what caused the SHORT?

It looks like there are just thin plastic dividers between the blocks and the electricity arced around them. Ozone is generated from electrical arcing, so that makes sense. Seems like a bad design.

              This is a guess.....but.

I'm betting there was a weak connection in that "transfer switch", that caused one of the wires to heat up, melting the insulation off and causing a short with another wire or ground.

That would be my opinion as well.

                        I bet you are right....

and I've now seen three with the same brand switch....

and I would bet a six pack that this one would make #4.
