i think its best to pay for a lease and drive a few hundred miles down the road and just leave the hogs in your back yard alone. that makes total sense to me. i dont see why we cant at least bow hunt them in the city limits.

If the state would put a $10 bounty on them then folks would get after it!!!

They're here to stay and there's no way to get rid of them. They reproduce way too fast and they already have a good foothold here.

I have family (non hunters) that live around georgetown. They live in a nice neighborhood and have a huge hog problem. They were told they can not shoot them with a gun or with a bow. They tried to put out poison and had to go through the homeowners assoc. to let everyone know what they were doing but i dont think it helped. Had 1 guy quote them $1k/ hog to trap them and remove them. I think they said now they have over 15 hogs that show up and root around and tear everything up at their house as well as through the neighborhood.

moral of the story is they are getting bad. Laws need to be changed I think to where people should at least be able to shoot them with bows even in city limits or have gov. positions where it is someone's job in the county to go around and trap and remove hogs.

The gestation period is 3 months 3 weeks 3 days so they pretty much have at least 2 if not 3 litters a year

How sweet would it be to be on the Hog EliminAtion Team (H.E.A.T.)? What a great idea.....get paid to hunt hogs.

I have two hog traps they can use for no fee. I will dispose of the hogs in a sausage grinder.

I just hate to see within 3-4 years from now, how the laws would handle these issues when it's already way late to control them. I could go to my bro in laws place & barrow 10 of his hog traps but, I'd be wasting my time to even think about doing that. it’s non sence. We know they are all over Southlake,Roanoke,Justin,Argyle,Trophy Club, & yes, now in keller. Matter of fact, just seen 3 just before the white fence on 114 where the Bisons & a Camel hangs out, just on the fork of 170 & 114. I know we have Coyotes in Keller but, Wild pigs? hump, something has got to be done, before those critter really goes Hog Wild.

Honestly I think there is enough intrest in hog hunting that we could put a real big dent in the population. If we have every land owner with a few people on it a few times a year we could do some damage. Think about how many buffalo there were and what we did. As humans we can hunt anything into an endangered animal.

Oh it's possible just not probable. First of all there are too many spots where people own land and do not condone hunting. There are alot bigger obstacles in the way now than there were at the time that the buffalo were wiped out. Personally, I'm glad that there are. The difference of course is the buffalo were a native species and these hogs are not.
