Where does any law say that a handgun is required to be concealed when en route to a home or vehicle under a person's control?

Why do think it is called A CONCEALED CARRY LICENCE. YEA, go ahead and carry showing and a cop sees you...????. Even it it prints to show that you are carrying a weapon can get you in trouble

May depend on the hotel, lots of businesses have the generic "unlicensed possesion of a firearm is not allowed on these premises" sign on the door or something close to it.

The only requirement regarding carrying it to the hotel room is that it remains concealed.

It's actually exactly 10 hours, which includes the shooting proficiency and final exam.

The CHL process really isn't that bad anymore. You fill out your application on-line at the DPS website and pay via credit card for the app fee. The DPS application takes about 15-20 minutes. Then you need finger prints. You now are recommended to do the digital finger prints. Many places will do this, just make an appointment. Process takes 5 mintues and your prints are automatically remmitted to the state. Only thing you have to mail in now, is the course completion certificate, passport photos (generally provided as part of the 10 hr. class) and a photo holder you print off from the DPS website. That's it.

For the most part, all you give up is a Saturday and a couple hundred bucks. About $100 for application fee and the other $100 as a classroom fee for the instructor.

the reason you can carry from your car to your house in the open, but can not carry from your car to the hotel room is that it is on private property at your house.

Oh yeah, and printing itself is not against the law. The law says, ".....intentionally fails to conceal the handgun". Simply being able to tell there is a gun there is not by itself a violation.

Best Saturday I've given up this year I'm happy when I checked my status today it had been sent to printer, so I went and ordered my holster. Just another week or so I'm hoping.
