We wanted to find out on the first so that we could prepare properly. I had just started vet school and money was tight, so we needed to make sure we made the proper choices. We were just impatient with the second.
I have a few friends that waited till the birth, seems like more are waiting now.
Congrats to ya, RdRdrFan and Cotton!Last edited by agvet2004; 08-19-2010, 11:02 AM.

First of all, Congrats Cotton and RdRdrFan!!
We went traditional and chose the surprise route with the first one. Had a couple of false starts before the second one took and we decided to find out in advance. I agree with what others have said about going thru the miscarriages, I think it helped my wife emotionally to know.

Daughter who's an RN and her husband specifically told the doc not to let them know the gender of the kid . . . I asked why? She said that it's one of the few things in this world that can be a surprise. I thought, nice. They have a healthy baby boy named Thomas that is now 2 months old.
Our first kiddoe was a surprise and the baby turned out to be a boy who is now 30. Not sure if we found out on #2 (the RN daughter) and #3.
I think that it's just personal preferance.
