To Know or Not To Know

My Niece was so excited to find out the sex of her baby today. I told her to let it be a surprise and she said, Uncle Jeff you are crazy!

To me it's like peeking at your Christmas presents early, when the time comes to unwrap them it's not as big of a deal.

Does anyone tell the Doc they don't want to know anymore or is that a thing of the past?

My kids are now in college, but we preferred not to know.

After the miscarriages that my wife and I endured, we wanted to know. I think it helped us, because we could name the baby and be more attached to him. It was like he was here already. We also have his room ready, which helps emotionally.

It's a surprise when you have the sonogram too. Knowing ahead of time helps you plan and prepare. You know if you need to buy regular camo or pink camo.

We were always in the "tell me now" crowd. My wife had a miscarriage the first time as well, and I think that played into it for us too.

Our situation exactly. And I'm actually sitting in a room at the hospital right now waiting for them to come take us back for our c-section.

If I find myself in that situation, it would drive me absolutely insane not knowing.....

We found out through the sonogram, it is a surprise whether you find out upon delivery or through the sonogram. When we found out it was a boy I cried, I was going to have a son! It also made it possible to get his room ready and buy clothes etc. Not to mention refering to him by name throughout the pregnancy. When it comes time for the next one we will find out through sonogram as well.

I didn't want to know on my second child and my wife wanted to know. She went in for a sonogram and assured me she would keep the results to herself. That lasted for a whole two seconds

We both wanted to know when my wife was pregnant. We went in and I was watching the screen as the nurse was doing the sonogram and there was no doubt it was a boy. Even if I didn't want to know that day, it was too easy to see.

We had planned on finding out since everybody was asking and we wanted to get his room ready and have clothes and stuff ready for when he was born. To us, it makes planning much easier when you know what's coming.
