Nothing like tracking hog at night will all your focus on the ground ... and SAaaaa--mACk.... ! Walk blindly right into a big ole' web as it feels like it encases your entire head ! (shivers) Flippen out wondering... " I got the web on me... now where is the SPIDER !!!?"
They are harmless (other than hurting yourself trying to get out of their web!) and we have played with them since I was a kid. They'll crawl around on you, and sometimes you can wear one on you cap for hours. If you're not creeped out by that sort of thing, that is...
I thought it was an orb weaver, but I am probably wrong.

These dang things are the inspiration for me an' my Uncle making millions. But since you folks is such good folks, I'll give you our million dollar idea for free. We take a 6-8ft section of space age polymer spider blocking pole material and then install it to the front of the ATV or riding lawnmower using space age adhesive strips such that the spider blocking pole sticks up vertically about 5-6 feet over the hood of the mower or handlebars of the ATV. Guaranteed to get them banana spiders and also them fat scary red spiders too. If you aren't in an area where the space age polymer spider blocking rod material or space age adhesive is available, we find that PVC and duct tape work just fine too.
