Altering Chippewa Snake Boots

I spoke with a boot guy this morning and he said I would have to take them to a book maker (he mentioned Ponder on the North Side of Fort Worth) if I wanted to have them re-seamed up the back. He said he could cut notches in the top (which is what I was wanting) for around $15-$20 bucks and add in a piece of leather if I wanted to. I think I am going to go that route. I will try to take some pictures and update the process.

maybe you all should contact Chippewa and suggest with such a large number of peeps on here wanting these...and this just being one group of people, that there must be large numbers of people who would be interested in these modified boots and that they should make them.....maybe direct order but they should accommodate the hunters out there who love their product and have extra large drumsticks.

Here is the info Chippewa just sent me....
Thank you for contacting Justin Brands.
The calf size of your boots are built proportionate to the foot size. You can check the circumference of your boots with the chart below to make sure that it is the correct calf size for you. We are looking at larger calf sizes on our boots, but I do not have a release date. Any alterations to the boot will void the warrantee and we cannot guarantee the area of alteration to be bite proof.

Heath, how did you get in touch with them?
I will contact them, even though I have mere mortal human drumsticks, I will play along for the benefit of the big drumsticked people.

My Chippewa's are 5 yo, good boots. They aren't waterproof, but a wet foot is better than a bit foot. Keep some mink oil on them it isn't bad, no mink oil- soaked 50lb boots. Bought mine at the Justin outlet in Fort Worth, about $60-$80, but I've seen them on sale for less. I have replaced the insole a couple of times.
