I hate chiggers, but they love me. My mom always made us get into a bath with one cap full of Lysol mixed into the bath water. Ticks and bugs would falloff immediately, but I think she might have been trying to disenfect my crack. LOL

We (kids and the dogs) always got dusted with Seven Dust also works well. Wenever got chiggers or fleas for that matter...

If anything the nail polish acts like a bandaid or "NuSkin".....it does nothing for the bite as far as disnfecting or breaking down the poison......or the often confused thought of "killing the burrowed chigger"
