    Chigger bites. Truth or Myth

Check out this info on Chigger bites. I have have a bounch of them lately. I used to use the nail polish thing. But lately I have found That washing off at the lease before I come home or just after being in the woods has helped a bounch. As well as spraying off around my legs before going into the woods.

Here is a very interesting link

I used to work on water wells around farms and during the summer when the grass was tall we would put dog flea collars around our boot tops. It helped with chiggers and ticks. Just a thought

Anything you hear about chiggers, it is most likely a myth!

There are more chigger myths than those of Buck Medely, Chuck Norris, Big Foot and Chupacabra combined.

Yea, the actual irritation comes from a feeding tube that they leave in your skin, or something like that.

            Here it is. Good info.

There are few things I dislike more than chigger bites...fyi..there is a product called Chiggerrid (SP?) that works pretty well for those that get ya! You can get it at the pharmacy.

My grandmother would put bacon grease on our chigger bites. Worked so well, I do the same now. BTW, not hot grease

How can you go wrong with bacon? BTW, if you use flea collars on your legs and don't get chigger bites, how do you know that it was the flea collars that did it?

Grandma used to dust our ankles with sulphur powder, never got chigger bites.

Very informative read.. I am a long time user of Sulphur. Buy it in a pound container, pour it in an old sock and use it to dust everytime I go in field. Just put it in a ziploc bag and carry it to the field.. With dove season coming up it is a good idea to carry one with you..

I am stalked by chiggers! Someone suggested the new towlette wipes by Off, what the heck, I have tried everything else and nothing ever works,,,,,,, tried them and they worked great!!!! We walked all over our place looking for rabbits and I went home with one chigger bite!!! Smell was minimal so I am hoping I will be able to use them during the 1st part of deer season!
