    Another game camera thread

I am looking at the Bushnell Trophy cams and I am wondering if it is worth the extra money to get the 8 mega pixel instead of the 5 mega pixel which I can still get for $160 on natchezss.com?

The megapixels are not the seller for me...check the SD card capacity. Me being 5 hours away, and having a large deer population, I can fill a 2GB card up ( like the $160 one on Natchez) in 3-4 weeks set on 1 pic every 4 minutes. That's 1800ish pics....I think the new ones let you have a 8GB or 16GB card.

Now if you deer pops are low or you live close to your lease this won't be a concern and the cheaper one will be fine..

But I sure would like to be able to go every two months during TC season versus once a month like I am now with the once with higher capacity. $140 in fuel roundtrip just to check cameras when the feeders don't need to be filled can seem a little ....well...........wasteful .

The group buy is for the "Scoutguard" type of cam. I know a couple of people who use the scoutguard and have had good luck with'em. I'm getting 2 of'em...

I am very happy with the two I got last time and getting 2 more. Each camera took about 5000 pictures and still show a full charge on the batteries

The problem with the order going on in the classifieds, is I kind of want this camera around the second week of August which is when I plan on going to the lease again. They can't even guarantee those cameras will be in by September...

The SD capacity was definitely a plus with the more expensive camera. My lease in San Saba is about 4.5 hours from my house in Houston and our deer population is a pretty fair size. My buddy had 2000 pictures in 15 days with it set for 2 pictures every 3 minutes... I told him to back down to 1 picture every 2 or 3 minutes but he's stuck on the 2 picture sequence for some reason. Not real sure why.
