Sure is emotional and not sure if I could watch next week's episode without losing it. I truly miss my father and he passed away Dec. 22, 99 and was in the ICU Nov. 20th til that date.
I felt the same way. I lost my father Aug. 12, 1998 to a brain aneurysm and last nights episode brought back alot of feelings. Next week will be tough for sure.

It will be a good show next week for sure. I think it will give Capt. Phil the respect he deserved.

It was funny in after the catch they were saying how everything is "real" and not made up drama for "ratings".......seems like hollywood is taking over

Pretty easy to judge him isn't it. Having his Dad die before him with a camera shoved in his face the entire time.

Would it have made a difference if the entire episode was Jake sitting beside his Dad in the airplane and then in the hospital ballin his eyes out? I bet they had days of that footage.

That wouldn't make for good tv would it? We saw the ugly side of all this.
A young man with addiction problems dealing with the death of his Dad.

        What's he 20 or 21 years old?

I am guessing that Phil's friends (other Captians) will be there for the boys to help them get through this. Let's hope for the best for them.

Ya, not looking forward to next weeks episode at all I'm not sure why, we all know the outcome, I guess actually seeing it unfold ...

Never really been a fan of Andy either, Johnathan makes me laugh though, primarily at his insecurities and juvenility (is that a word?)

I really feel sorry for Jake, actually both of them, but on different levels. NW Jake, good kid dealt some rough hands this year. CM Jake, needs a serious slap upside the head for a wake up call, unfortunately Phil's passing may be it. Wonder which way he will go?

Keith's daughter sure is a hard *** on him about his chewing, she don't pull any punches!

Yes....having dealt with addiction personally on several levels, that judgment comes easy..

This cracks me up.....my wife and I said the same. That little eleven year old is tenacious....and she doesn't sugar coat it at all.

Jake is a punk, he needs to take a page from his buddy Northwestern Jake's playbook and sober up!

Other side note: Edgar looks like he is done and Sig doesn't seem to really care. Sad indeed.

Anybody watch after the catch following this weeks episode? I only caught part of it.

Very sad watching the boys rip into one another.

yes sir...I have watched them all. I thought it was going to be about the Cornelia Marie but it was more of a touch on Phil with Freddie and Josh at the first but then went off on a BP oil spill and even a Katrina hurricane tangent for the last 30 minutes. I hope next weeks episode, after his death, is more focused on the Cornelia Marie or at least Phil.

I have a buddy that is "estranged" from his brother over a stupid thing. It is such a terrible deal. When I saw this I just wanted to slap them both. Right or wrong is irrelevant, brothers are a life long bond. As I understand all they have is each other. My youngest son (4) and daughter (3) have their little spats as all siblings do. We are already teaching them that they are BFF's, they are family, nothing can change that bond, no matter what happens in their life they will always have each other.

I couldn't compare it to losing famy either but to each his own...

Jake, on the other hand, is an addict. He made a choice sometime in the past that caught up to him. Stealing fro
His dad is wrong! Doing drugs is wrong! But can you imagine what he was feeling in that time!? A "butt whoopin" is a silly thought. I would imagine there are many members here that can relate to ol' Jake rather from their own past or a friend or family member. Through being an addict of drugs or alchahol. Just sayin

Makes sense now hearing you have been there. I didn't know.
But I can still see letting it slide/understanding it a little during this time.
