TPWD draw hunts

    A lot of the places are open to the public so if you shut these places down for the weekend, it would cause a big rucous.

    I hate that some of these places used to be open to hunting all year if you buy the annual permit, but when they saw how much money they could make, they made it draw only.

      This also comes down to a capacity issue, I used to hunt richland and there was many times you couldn't find a place to camp it was so crowded, didn't help the hunting much either with a 1000 hunters walking the woods.

        I know what you mean being a single parent myself. But look at it from their side, they want to be home with their families on the weekends just like we do.

        Not to mention a safety issue. I would rather not draw/hunt every year than worry about other hunters being within 100 yards in every direction.
        Ever been down to Chaparral during quail/dove season? All you see is blaze orange everywhere. Imagine if they opened that up to walk-in deer hunting.
