i have been looking at the river run 1 tubes at academy .. any input for these tubes..
I think these are the tubes we use. Blue and White? Can't go wrong. If you take care of them when you are not at the river they will last quite a while.
the best thing to do is go to a tire store and have them order you the heavy duty tubes. Those tubes you buy at walmart and academy will rip easy on the rocks.

I think that is what I am going to do. Discount tire has river tubes for 20 dollars. Cant go wrong there if they are the same black tubes u rent for the river.

I have at least have a dozen of them that we have collected over the last 2-3 years. GREAT tubes. I like the mesh bottoms for the kids to be able to ride in like a raft, and to hold on to sunscreen, etc, and they are durable. Very comfortable also. I fell asleep in one in the front yard of the cabin (after a few to many) and it was great, until my wife opened the air valve and I woke up flat on the grass. She still laughs about that.......
are the academy river tubes black like the ones u see on the river to rent? bc those are awesome. The ones I think Academy has seem more like towables/lake tubes.
