no tellin what the kid did to make the teacher that mad. I'd like to hear the whole story. I'm in no way condoning the actions of the teacher, but some kids today... ummm, I'm gonna stop now.

My wife is a teacher & I know a lot of ya'll are too, I hear the horror stories & there is no punishment at school other than going to On Campus Suspension.
This is why I could never be a teacher, I would be on the news a lot.
I have the utmost respect for the ones that are with todays kids.

I can imagine how this kid probably behaved at school..and at home.
Not saying it was right, but maybe if momma had whipped that *** at home a teacher would not have had to...

That is what is wrong with kids today. Lets give them a time out instead. I got "time outs" - my dad always took "time out" of his busy schedule to whoop my butt!

And the funny thing is, if that were his mother and this happened in public, she'd be thrown UNDER the jail. Child abuse, cut and dry. Funny how that works.....

To me it looked like they were playing. You could see the kid laughing and smiling. I watched it a few times and didn't see any hard connecting blows. It does go to show how you can leave yourself vulnerable to the worst thing anyone could make of any one situation.

What did the other teachers say??

I don't know if she ever hit him at all. I think the teacher needs to get fired for acting silly rather than any abuse, since it did not appear that there was any.

I know why no other teachers stepped in. It is because that was just a bunch of nonsense. The kid was not hurt and he was not abused although the teacher is goofy for doing it.

OK, regardless of what this kid did, I think a paddling was more in order. This is unacceptable on every leverl! God be with the teacher who doe this to my child.... I promise you this, I'll make the news......

That would be me probably in the first five minutes if I were a teacher. I don't see how my wife does it.

If I were that kid..... cause this would only be a taste of what my Dad would do when I got home!!!!

I am not saying the Teacher was right but I have seen the inside of a Charter school and you think Regular ISDs are getting bad...

These classrooms are FULL of kids that were kicked out, run off, or discarded from an ISD. This Teacher has some big ones just to be in the room with these kids.

It all starts and ends at home and from what I have seen ITS NOT HAPPENING AT ALL. Teacher are afraid and told to not handle kids anymore. The kids know that there will be no consequences to their actions. My wife has Kindergartners that know this and will push it to the limit daily.

I think the schools need to bring back corporal punishment with a vengeance.

I could care less what color he is. If the parents & schools would still whoop kids you would not see so much of this going on.

I can guarantee you that if my kids act up to the extent as some of these kids do I will be up there swinging a paddle myself if the school won't. I have even told my girls gymnastics coach "to put a boot in her butt". I gave him confidence that as long as she deserves it you are not going to have me coming after him for disciplining my kid.

If his mom would have beat his !@# a couple times growing up when he acted like a punk, maybe just maybe he would have thought twice before talking smack to others and maybe this teacher wouldn't have had to do what the parents are to lazy to.

Lets just turn that around a little bit. What if it were you? If I was making fun of some challenged kid and a teacher had to fight me over it my dad would have relly whooped my !@#. What if it were your kid getting made fun of day in and day out? Would you secretely thank the teacher? Heck I would help them find a new job.

But she's not "whoop[ing]" him. She's hitting him with a closed fist. Very different.

I quit teaching because of students and parents who raise students like above stated. Every night I was coming home on edge (almost became an alcoholic) asking myself, "what is going to stop me from beating the crap out of certain students?" What is worse in my experience is that administrations don't want to deal with problem kids either. I kept sending my so called problem children to the office because that was the policy. After a month of doing so, I get reprimanded for not working with the same students who were a constant disruption. I told them its my job to teach all my students not spend 1/2 my class time telling one or a few to behave.

This is so TRUE. My wife teaches Kindergarten and I'm amazed at some the stories she comes home with about 5 Year Olds. There is no way I could do that job. I don't condone what the teacher in the video did but from living with a teacher and hearing them all talk I can see how something like this could happen.
