      I know only too well after hitting one too forward and too high Wednesday night. I never found my arrow or any blood. I think I'll see that pig again. I doubt I killed him.

        Thats why you take a hard quartering away shot with a cut on contact broadhead. Slip it in toward the back of the shield.

                        Wish you had been there for the experiment. I would love to see what kind of penetration the same setup on the same boar could have achieved with that shot placement instead of shooting straight at the shield.

                            He does make a good point though. How many times have you/we shot a big boar only to have him run off with most of your arrow sticking out, and never find hide nor hair of him? Now, had the shot been several inches LOWER I think it would be a pass through, shield or not.

                            There is no doubt that they can be tough son of a guns. Thanks Blood Trail for sharing that.
