    What Model Hoyt is This?

I bought this bow from Ken Witt (Arlington Bowhunting World) back in 1996 and it was used then.

The story on the bow according to Ken was that it was made only in a solid color but a Hoyt Factory worker took this bow and dipped it using the same process that their models that had a camo finish. His point was it was a one of a kind bow.

Anyway there is no indication of the model on the bow anywhere.

Anyone have any idea on the model?

I think it is the much sought after Hoyt "Dinosaur".

Did the overdraw give it away?!

That is indeed one heck of an overdraw! Does it shoot 12 inch arrows?

I used to have an old bow that was made by "Outers Archery" and it was similar to this one. It had a letoff of about 30% on a good day. My Uncle who gave it to me actually won quite a few tournaments with it though and killed more deer than I could imagine.

Cool old bow! maybe someone here could help you out. But, you might get a better response by e-mailing the picture to Hoyt and asking them.

They are not much longer than crossbow bolts!

I haven't seen an overdraw like that in 15 years. Wow.

According to everything I can find, cut out risers started around 1994/95. So in 96 that bow was only about a year old. The oldest manual on Hoyt's web site is from 2002, so looking there didnt help. If I were betting that would be something from the gamegetter line with a totally new revolutionary new lighter riser. Overdraws were on the way out in the late 90s so that very well could be one of the last models that did not have the "TEC" riser that they still make today. You very well could be sitting on a gem of archery history, that might pay HUGE dividends if you decide to move it. IMO I would send the pics to Hoyt, and lt them identify it by the grip of all things. Be sure to let us know what you find out.

Cool piece of "modern" archery history. I can't help you out with identifying it in any way but have a similar story.

My brother still has and still shoots a PSE Mach Flight 4. circa 1990ish. Still shooting a 2 1/2" overdraw. I've told him to buy a new bow and DO NOT EVER sell that one.

i believe that's a Hoyt SuperStar Meridian bow from around 1993-94

these bows were introduced just before the Carbonite series with split limbs and TEC series risers

here is a similar riser with cutouts ... 2nd from left

I just filled out the "contact us" page on there website. I could not find an e-mail address so I guess I will wait and see if someone gets back to me.

I have one of those. I can't remember the name. Intruder or Invader, I think. If I remember correctly, it was one on which they used the Superstar riser with some cheapy limbs. I bought it in early 1995. It was anodized camo, though, not dipped. It is probably at my cousin's house as I let him use it to start bowhunting years ago. I need to get it back.

You can see it in this video from 1999.
