I would put my Toro up against that kind of acreage.... I only keep up 9 acres with mine, I loaned mine (28hp gas, 54" deck, commercial mower) to a good friend and he wound up buying the Toro Commercial diesel with a 72" deck and they mow every bit of 24 acres with theirs every week and he his very happy with his as well... We have both been running these mowers for over 5 years, his ranch hand runs his most days and it holds up to the abuse very well!!!!

I agree with Dale about not having to do it in a day but you will spend some time every day mowing that much land.
I have had a Gravely for almost 2 months and I love it, I like mowing though. I will knock mine out and then jump on neighbor's that needs it without even asking, lol. The smaller lot owners have walk behinds and it is a treat for them to come home to a mowed yard, now their weekend is free.
However, I would not dream of 24 acres. With the best made, you are looking at 12 hours of mowing every week. Even if you split it up to 3 days, that is still 4 hours in the seat each evening.
Why not dig a big pond, like 10 acres and you would be set, lol.

All that being said, I would definitely buy the biggest deck you can get. My daughters tell me all the time "your not really working because you are sitting down on the mower". Be prepared. Tell your wife it is NOT fun. Even with the nice seat I have on my mower, I could not imagine mowing 24 acres all at once. Good luck.

Scag, gravely, JD, Hustler, I'm sure they all make one that will get the job done. Make sure it has a solid motor with plenty of power. I know those Kawasaki motors will run forever. and I'm sure I don't have to mention this, but I would want one huge deck (maybe 72") if I was going to have to cut that many acres.
