    Name This Stretch of Water

No prize for this one...just wanted to see the first person who recognizes this stretch of water.

Hint: I believe a few years back it was recognized as one of the top 10 swimming holes in Texas. I know a good handful of TBH'ers have been here before.

Yep Mary and they are great this year with all the rain we have had. Going to get Swift Water Rescue Cert Beginner and Advanced in back to back weekends due to all the rain we have ahd and will be getting. The rivers are flowing fast and after every rain they are running deep. 1492 low water crossing gets closed almost every time it rains now!!!

That one didn't take long. We ventured down there last week to take pics and to walk around. I noticed orange ribbons on a lot of trees in the park area around the Blue Hole? Any rumors of a camp ground being put in or something?

Gotta love those big Cypress Trees.

Cypress Creek - Blue Hole - Wimberley Texas....further feeding into the Blanco River.

I'm a bit further to the west near the Green Hole

Awwwwwwww man....that's just rubbing it in! It looks like this summer will be great (for a change) on water levels. I'll be up that way soon and will certainly be getting some river time in.

                        Thanks Mary!

I just found out why the orange ribbons are all over the trees down around the Blue Hole.

We also ventured over to the Blanco right off of RR12 and jumped on in. You talk about some cold water! I sure was glad to see the river and creeks running good in the hills again.

Johnny you know the indians swam and hung out there back in the day. I'll bet that was a popular summertime camping spot for them as well. One has to wonder if they had ropes in the trees back then too.

Very true. Trust me, I was thinking about that while taking pics down there with the kids. Their is actually a small little ridge that sits about 40 to 50 yards off of the Blue Hole (see pics below). I'm thinking they set up the main camp up there but also had a camp down low near the creek. I looked around on the surface but didn't see any signs of chipped flint. Then again I didn't look too long but I'm pretty confident of old camps being up on that ridge.
