Do ya'll think Hagerman should use a "point" system? I put in 3 years in a row and didn't draw. But... I was drawn 2 years in a row after that. Goin' for # 3 this year!
Uh, you do realize there is corp land on texoma that backs up right against hagerman, and anyone can hunt it for free, not to mention the red river, river bed which is considered no mans land so anyone can hunt there too. Thats what he's ****** about, people bringing attention to this area in general.
Where does he say anything about the corps land or the RR bed?
I first applied to hunt Hagerman in 1985 when they had 105 applicants and drew 100 names. In the early 1980's there weren't many people that knew about "H", but I had heard it was a "buddy-buddy" system and that you wouldn't get drawn if you didn't know someone there. Myself and the other 2 guys that applied with me were 3 out of the 5 they didn't draw! How un-lucky is that? It ticked me off, so I didn't apply again for another 12 years. The next time I applied I got drawn. I have been kicking myself for not applying all those years. I hate to think about all the chances I passed up.
Geez, i cannot find my stinkin IBEP card...........again!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I go to my local TPWD office in Houston and get the number or another card??? I know I can get one from Austin but that may not arrive in time. I am startin to wonder if my wife is hiding my card every 2 years or so.
you should be able to look on your hunting liscense for the IBEP number. I would also bet that you could call Austin, and get it handelled quickly. you still have 2 weeks. there aint no deer there anyways, so why bother?!?!?
Dropped it off in person the other day for me and a buddy, cruised around and saw a really big doe with a very red coat, she almost looked like a red stag doe. If the rain keeps up those hunters that get drawn may have to hunt wearing waders That place is flooded.

I don't really care about the deer hunting 'cause I KNOW "there ain't no deer there...". I just like it up there because of the rain, ticks, snakes and mosquitoes that time of the year. Also, if drawn, I plan on hunting nekid to keep the other hunters out of my stand area.
