To the moderator who keeps deleting my replies, thats not cool. Back to what I have been trying to say, all this is leading to is more overcrowding on public land. How many of you like to have a stand within 100 yds of yours? I cant fathom why anyone would want to brag about their hunting spot. So no one else feels this way? How many of you on here have learned about Hagerman via the internet? How many of you have just learned of Hagerman through this single topic? My point is that nobody likes competition on public land and it would be nice to finally keep a low-key on a place. Sure, many people know about Hagerman, but ten-fold do not know about it and it would be nice to keep it that way.Sorry for upsetting anyone on here regarding my viewpoint, apparently my opinion does not matter since every reply gets deleted.

Piggyback, I have been on the green screen since its early years, maybe year one. Hagerman has been a topic of discussion on here since then. The guys who put in post draw results, scouting dates, and hunting reports. There is so little public land here in Texas that with lease costs rising, it is all going to be utilized as much as possible. More hunters in TX every year with fewer opportunities means more people hunting on public lands. Most of the people on here consider everyone friends and family, who doesn't share good information with friends and family?
Not trying to start an argument with you, but sharing many others viewpoint on the issue.Check the public lands area, there are several on here who know these areas well, and they will all share information. It may not be to their honey holes, but they will help anyone on here if asked.

Piggyback,
Hagerman limits its hunts to 70 hunters per segment, every year. No matter how many people enter, there will still be the same number of people hunting the refuge every year. Your argument would make sense only if there were less than 210 entrants every year. As it is, there are hundreds of entrants for several hundred fewer spots than there are hunters. Your argument goes to applicants, not to actual hunters, and therefore doesn't make any sense with regard to a system like Hagerman's, in which all hunters are selected by a draw. I'd love to know how you have determined that a possible increase in the number of APPLICANTS for Hagerman will somehow result in an increase in the number of HUNTERS allowed on the refuge this year.
Anyway, you said earlier that you don't even apply for Hagerman. If this is true, why do you keep posting on this thread?

Jay and GRAY, Thanks for your input and viewpoint. Interesting. Gray, with increased applicants for x- amount of permits, wouldnt someone have a lesser chance of getting drawn? Your right about letting secrects on to family, just dont whip me like a step child!I think Texas' public hunt system is an absolute joke and the amount of acres available. We pay more than many other states and get much less. Been to kansas and so. dak and they have millions of acres available for public hunting and all you need is a state license. Bunch of crooks down in austin, there needs to be a total revamp down there because i get tired of squandering money to some fools. Good luck to whomever gets lucky and is drawn at "H-town" and thanks for the input on this.

Piggyback I understand what your saying...BUT Haggerman has been in three major magazines that I know of and probably more. I think the cat's been let out of the bag all ready..
I have put in weeks ago. What p's me off is that I have never been drawn!!!! I have put in for years and have never been picked. Then I talk to men at Mesquite Archery Club and they tell me ...OH I have been picked 4 out of the last 5 years.. One man told me he'd been picked for 5 years straight.. Such BS, when I have never been picked!!!! I talked to the man that runs Haggerman to make sure I was putting in propperly, and he said yes.. It's a randum draw by computer!!!!!! Something D$#^@@ sure isn't right!!!!!!!
